Experience

I am a student at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), working toward a degree in Mathematics with a minor in Accounting. I believe that the most important element in effective tutoring is finding the right approach to the problem. There are usually multiple approaches available, and I strive to identify and present the most effective method. I like playing a role in drawing out a child's curiosity and passion for learning, and helping them to build confidence in their own abilities. I have several years of tutoring experience, beginning when I was in high school. I believe that being relatively young is an asset in tutoring, as I can relate to the material and the student's experiences. I offer tutoring in a broad range of subject matter, including most junior high school and high school courses, SAT preparation, and college-level Economics, Accounting, History, and Mathematics. Math is my greatest strength and area of interest, but I work to stay knowledgeable in a variety of subjects and have a passion for learning and teaching nearly any subject matter. When I'm not pursuing my own studies or working with students, I enjoy reading, playing the cello, playing soccer, and collecting music.
