Experience
I have three years of professional tutoring experience at my university's Writing Center, where I helped students with their writing assignments for various college-level subjects. To qualify as a writing tutor, I was required to pass a semester-long tutoring course. Outside of the Writing Center, I served as an in-class tutor for freshman English composition courses. I was also hired as the writing tutor for the university's summer bridge English composition program for incoming freshmen looking to get a head start with honing their writing skills. In high school I tutored middle school students for community service. It was during that time that I realized how fulfilling it is to help others. I enjoy partaking in collaborative tutoring sessions and especially those that continue beyond one or two meetings. These long-term relationships enable me to see how the student is growing throughout the learning process, which is quite rewarding.
